What can I expect when I meet with you? At your first appointment, we will be reviewing intake paperwork (Informed Consent) and clarify any questions you may have about treatment.  Together will determine treatment needs, goals and objectives. The next step is working on targets and barriers (i.e. efficacy of mental health symptom management, relationships, communication, etc.).

How long does therapy take? This completely depends on you and your treatment goals!  If you have one incident that you’d like to clear in Reiki or Yoga, then that will take a much less time than if you are looking to address multiple life experiences, negative beliefs, etc. via talk therapy. The minimum amount of time people tend to typically spend with me is 4-6 months. We will have weekly sessions together to move you to healing at a much quicker pace. Naturally, biweekly and monthly sessions are options as well, for those who are slow to warm up.

Do you have weekend or evening appointments? I have evening appointments available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (contingent on availability and flexibility). Weekend slots are available on an as needed basis between 8AM-1PM. Book a Consultation.

How long are your sessions? Your treatment sessions are a standard 50 minutes long.  It gives us enough time to make progress on your goals and allow you to leave the session feeling grounded and centered.

What if I need an additional session or need to reach you in between sessions? If you call, I will return your call within one business day - I am not available for immediate crisis intervention.  We can certainly schedule additional sessions and/or extend the length of individual sessions based on your needs.

What if I need to reschedule an appointment?  What if I get sick? Whether it’s an illness or an emergency or you “forgot” about your scheduled appointment, LIFE happens to all of us. With that, I respectfully request 24 hour notice if you need to reschedule.  This allows me to fill your time slot with another client. If you are able to reschedule an appointment for the same week, I’ll waive the late cancellation fee otherwise your card on file will be charged a total of $75. My thought process here is, If I can’t help you I can be helping someone else!

Do you treat children or adolescents? I primarily treat adults and adolescents (ages 14+). I will treat children if directly referred to me for a specific reason - indicative of why *I* would be the right fit. There are excellent therapists who specialize in children and I want you to have the best so if I can’t help you, I want to be sure to find someone who can.

What are the types of clients you typically treat? The clients that I seem to help the most are seeking help for: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Panic Attacks and Anxiety, Feeling stuck or “blocked”, Repeating patterns in their lives (relationships), Loss of loved one, relationship, career, health, Adjusting to Life Transitions, Physical/Sexual Abuse (and/or assault), Substance Use/Addiction, Eating Disorders/Self Esteem, Couples Therapy/Marriage Counseling, ADHD (Inattention/Hyperactivity). Ultimately, I help individuals and couples overcome past hurts and assist my clients in tapping into their intuition to overcome life obstacles.

What Types of Modalities Do You Use? I put emphasis on promoting growth and insight into the mind body connection in order to increase awareness into mental health symptoms and efficacy of mental health symptom management. I challenge my clients to change their reactionary patterns and their internal monologues’ via exploration of irrational versus logical thinking patterns. Via optimization of the mind-body connection (i.e. breathe work, mindfulness) and psychoanalytic processing I can support my clients in getting back to the bodies natural state of homeostasis. Lastly, I lean toward Motivational Interviewing, Jungian Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to foster wraparound treatment as well as to encourage motivation for change.
