“To the mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders” -Lao Tzu

Yoga, or Asana (in Sanskrit) quite literally equates to the unification of mind, body and spirit. The ancient discipline and integration of linking breathe to movement has changed my life—not to mention, saved my life time and time again (no exaggeration). Even when I am resistant to it—those moments, days, weeks or months that I loathe rolling out my mat; those are the same moments that I witness a shift in my perspective and become so grateful that I did.

Yoga has taught me to get comfortable in the discomfort, to find stillness in the chaos all around me and to surrender to what is out of my control. Yoga is the foundation and fundamental practice of my life. By that I mean, when you are devoted to a practice that grounds you, you are deeply rooted in your sense of self & you find that anything is possible; no one person or thing can throw you off kilter. Grief, heartache, work, stress, anxiety, depression—it all seems to fade away and become more tolerable after each practice.

I share with you, this moving meditation of Asana (for all levels), with the hopes that you will give yourself the opportunity to experience the beautiful gift of yoga && without judgement.

I welcome you to share any comments below regarding your experience of this practice.
